The decapitated body of a woman reported missing last month has been found inside the garage of a Newark home.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed the body found was that of 50-year-old Pamela Davis, of Newark. Davis was reported missing by family members on Oct. 30.
Newark police responded Monday night to reports of a foul odor on the 800-block of South 11th Street. When officers arrived, they found the body wrapped in a blanket inside a garage. Sources tell News 12 New Jersey that Davis's head was cut off.
Davis lived only a block away from where her body was found, on the 700-block of South 11th Street.
The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine exactly how Davis died.
Anyone who might have any information about this incident is urged to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
