Crews are working to fix a large water main break in Edison.
An outlet on the 48-inch primary distribution main along Stephenville Parkway burst on Saturday night.
New Jersey American Water officials tell News 12 New Jersey the outlet burst with such force that it broke some car windows. The water gushed out of the break and made its way into some nearby homes.
The utility says the water main itself was found to be sound and does not need to be replaced.
Full water service is expected to be restored Monday afternoon. Road repairs could continue into the evening.
