Crews have made repairs to a water main break at a major intersection in Berkeley Heights on Wednesday.
The break caused massive traffic issues and sent water shooting into the air and above traffic lights.
The water main break on Diamond Hill and Valley Road affected about 160 customers. Officials say that water service has been restored.
Roadwork will continue through the night. The roadways are how commuters get to major highways like Interstate 78 and Route 22. Traffic in the area is expected to be impacted.
"Our road was the only access to get up to town or to New Providence. Traffic was bumper-to-bumper. I've never seen it like that in the 50-some years that I've lived in this house,” says resident Carolyn Huttle.
The road work is expected to be completed prior to Thursday’s morning commute.
