"I have not been paid one dime extra for any overtime, any comp time," said Chief Amos. "I'm paid my salary and that's it."
The city manager says that his contract limits the chief to 96 hours of total overtime.
If he doesn't use the time before he retires, it could tack on an extra $33,000 to his $168,000 salary. He says he doesn't have any immediate plans to retire and anticipates that dollar amount will be a point of negotiation with the city when that time comes.
