The researchers at Rutgers University who developed the rapid COVID-19 saliva test were recognized for their hard work.
A movement called “Feed R Village” delivered hundreds of boxed lunches for the Rutgers medical staff that has been working the past few months to fight the pandemic.
“Our employees have been working steadily – extra shifts – since this pandemic began,” says Dr. Jay Tischfield. They are the heroes of this whole thing.
The movement was created by the owner of New Brunswick’s Tavern on George as a way to uplift morale and to help his own staff.

“We learned quickly that in New Brunswick that the way to keep our employees employed was to develop this nonprofit community kitchen,” says Doug Scheider. “Every day with this fundraising we’re able to make people happy. Feed people that need it and keep our small army of people employed.”
More information about the effort can be found on the Feed R Village website.
