The Democratic lawmakers who control New Jersey's state Legislature are skeptical about Gov. Chris Christie's proposal to cut the state's income tax rates by 10 percent.
Christie unveiled the plan at his State of the State speech yesterday. In his speech, the governor pointed to other states where there are proposals to raise taxes.
Democratic lawmakers are rallying against the tax cuts, saying high-income people would get most of the benefit and that school budgets could suffer to pay for them.
Morganville business owner Malay Patel tells News 12 New Jersey that a 10 percent tax cut would go a long way to help his business.
