City officials and community members in Trenton handed out hundreds of backpacks over the weekend to children getting ready for school.

City officials and community members in Trenton handed out hundreds of backpacks over the weekend to children getting ready for school.
The giveaway took place outside of Arm and Hammer Park.
The backpacks were filled with reusable cloth face masks and notebooks for the new school year.
The city hopes it's a welcome gift to residents struggling during the pandemic.
School starts in Trenton on Sept. 8.
