Campus police at Montclair State University were caught on video drawing their guns on people in a parked car. 

The incident happened Thursday outside a parking garage on campus.  

A student and another man were fighting outside the car and were eventually arrested on assault charges. 

The viral video has been re-tweeted thousands of times.

The school said in a statement, “Due to the uncertainties surrounding this altercation and vehicle stop, the officers took every precaution necessary to make sure that members of the campus community were not at risk. While the optics in the video may be unclear, the reality is that the officers acted according to New Jersey Attorney General guidelines and the process worked."
