The Bronx DA says he will investigate the case of a 14-year-old who claims he was pushed through a store's window by police earlier this month.
Police say Javier Payne fell through a glass window as an officer was trying to arrest him. Payne says the officer pushed him.
Payne received 50 stitches and staples in his head and chest as a result of the incident.
The teen's family says they're happy the DA is investigating how he ended up crashing through the window. The family's attorney, Sanford Rubenstein, says he has been advised there is video of the incident.
The NYPD is conducting its own investigation. The sergeant who arrested Payne has been put on modified assignment.
