City officials are encouraging the public to report potholes using the city’s 311 app.

City Councilwoman Jeanette Herron says she used the app Tuesday to report a pothole in her neighborhood and the hole was fixed two days later. The app has been in service for two years.

“The city of Bridgeport is trying its best to fill these potholes as quickly as possible, but with the weather you can’t expect everything to be perfect, and that’s where 311 is such a plus,” Herron says. “You see it, you click it, you send it in, and we get it taken care of.”

The free app also allows users to report graffiti, illegal dumping, health hazards and animal control issues.
