Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s supporters gathered at his field office in Boerum Hill to cheer him on in his second presidential debate Tuesday night.
He faced another heated debate where he was asked about his apology for stop-and-frisk.
“Not only did he apologize but he put his money where his mouth is and built a whole initiative to support that. It doesn't get better than that,” said supporter Cloe Luv.
Bloomberg was also questioned about alleged controversial comments from the past, which many believe were misogynistic. His supporters said he’s owned up to his mistakes.
“I think people need to put that behind them because we have to focus to the future and I do believe that it is wrong the way they’re ganging up on him,” said Patricia Faurelus.
Others said they support him for his stance on reproductive rights.
“He has made it clear that he supports a woman's right to choose and he's made it clear where he stands on gun control,” said Elizabeth Galarza.
Many said Bloomberg is the right man to take on President Donald Trump in the general election.
“When he took over the city, it was really in very poor shape and I think the same way. He’s qualified to be the next president,” Faurelus said.
The next debate will be in Arizona on March 15 and the final debate of the cycle will be sometime in April.
