Bill Clinton takes campaign for Hillary to New Jersey
(AP) - Bill Clinton is in New Jersey campaigning for his wife one week before the state's presidential primary.
The former president told a crowd at Camden County College that his wife would strengthen the nation's middle class, as he did.
The event comes days after Barack Obama won an easy victory over Hillary Clinton in South Carolina. There, the former president was harshly critical of Obama.
Bill Clinton mentioned race early in his talk Tuesday, promising no one would be excluded from opportunities because of race if his wife were president.
Hillary Clinton has maintained a double-digit lead over Obama in New Jersey polls.
