A Fort Lee restaurant kicked off the official start to an event honoring the life and legacy of late New Jersey native and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.
The celebration was held at Hiram’s Roadstand in Fort Lee to kick off the start of the “Anthony Bourdain Food Trail.” The trail features 10 restaurants throughout New Jersey that the award-winning chef, author, and television host featured on his series "Parts Unknown."
Bourdain’s brother Christopher Bourdain attended the special event Thursday.
"Thank you very much for creating this. I think Anthony would've been very honored to have this respect paid to him and I think he also would have said ‘Just get out there, try new stuff, keep looking around, don't stay in your comfort zone and New Jersey's got a lot of neat stuff,” said Christopher Bourdain.
The food trail was adopted unanimously by New Jersey officials earlier this year.
Restaurants on the trail include: Atlantic City’s Dock's Oyster House, James' Salt Water Taffy, Knife and Fork Inn and Tony's Baltimore Grill, Frank’s Deli in Asbury Park. Lucille’s Country Cooking in Barnegat, Kubel’s in Barnegat Light, Donkey’s Place and Tony & Ruth Steaks in Camden and Hiram’s Roadstand in Fort Lee
