A trending hashtag on Twitter this week was #MillennialWeddingVows.
Such vows among young adults include to never share an unfiltered picture of the couple and to never watch an episode of a TV show they are binge-watching together without the other present.
But in addition to the wedding vows, members of the millennial generation seem to be bucking the trends of traditional weddings.
“There’s no such thing as a cookie-cutter wedding anymore,” says Erik Kent with NJWedding.com.
Kent says that modern weddings are all about celebrating the couple’s uniqueness.
"[When] they don't want the confines of a banquet hall or hotel, they can have an outdoor wedding, with an outdoor ceremony. They can bring their dogs or their pets," Kent says.
Kent says that other trends are customized wedding social media hashtags.
“Click on this hashtag or share photos using this hashtag and then we’ll be able to see everything throughout the wedding day and afterward,” says Kent.
Kent says that at the end of the day – a wedding should be about what rings true for the couple.
