A popular restaurant in Fair Lawn was badly damaged after it caught fire.

The fire happened early Tuesday morning at Davia Restaurant at 6-09 Fair Lawn Ave.

Fair Lawn Deputy Fire Chief Michael Salvini says they aren't sure how the fire started. He does say the restaurant needs to be renovated before it can reopen.

"A lot of people love the restaurant," says Salvini. "We were actually all talking about it. We are going to miss it until its able to reopen."

No one was injured in the fire.
