An 11-year-old Newark girl caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting this week has left the hospital.
Shakia McCollum was hit in the arm after bullets were sprayed into the doorway of the R and R Grocery on 14th Avenue Tuesday. Shakia, who only lives a block away from the store, was on her way in to do some shopping.
The girl's family says they are now hoping to move from the area. Shakia stayed home from school Wednesday, as she is still in pain and unable to move all of the fingers in her right hand.
Police have arrested and charged 19-year-old Shaquan Johnson, of Irvington, in connection to the shooting.
