Police say a 28-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday at a Jersey City playground.
Witnesses say the shooter confused Darius Burgess with a man he had been arguing with when he shot and killed him at DiSanto Memorial Playground. According to witnesses, the shooter was fighting with another man over a woman.
Family members and friends lit a shrine of candles at the park Tuesday in honor of Burgess. They say police presence near the playground should be increased to prevent future violence and the city should install surveillance cameras around the park.
Jersey City police say they have one person of interest in the shooting, but have not made any arrests.
