Hoboken is making progress in its clean energy goals with a new electric garbage truck worth $1.2 million.

The State Department of Environmental Protection awarded the city funds for the vehicle along with a new electric shuttle bus.

The vehicles will save the city over $1 million in fuel over the next 15 years.
