White Plains mom sentenced to 7 years for attempting to drown her 2-year-old son

A White Plains mother was sentenced Tuesday to 7 1/2 years in prison for trying to drown her 2-year-old son in 2019.
La'Quanaya Ward, 30, pleaded guilty to attempted murder. 
Prosecutors says she attempted to drown her child in a bathtub at the Coachman Family Center in White Plains, where she was a resident.
Ward was caught in the act and stopped by another resident. Her children were placed in foster care.
