Toni Panico stood on line Wednesday to get two types of COVID-19 tests, rapid and regular PCR, after finding out she was potentially exposed.
Like thousands of other New Yorkers, the pandemic has hit home for her.
"I lost my mom. So this is very serious to me and I take this personally," said Panico.
Eric, an 11-year-old from Ossining, got tested Wednesday too.
"You guys should do the coronavirus test. It's free, so you can say you're healthy and be safe," said Eric.
Westchester County's Department of Health partnered with Open Door in Ossining to offer residents free testing Tuesday and Wednesday in an effort to fight the spread.
Last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned Ossining's yellow zone may face tougher restrictions and move to the orange or red zone.
Open Door offers same-day and walk-in appointments for coronavirus testing.
