Door-to-door service for the COVID-19 vaccine is now available in Ulster County.
About 70% of adults in Ulster County have at least one COVID-19 vaccine, but there's been a slowdown.
"Our county is the size of Rhode Island and so it can be difficult for people to get around, and transportation is a big limitation," said County Executive Pat Ryan.
"If you're hesitant to come to us, we will come to you," said Ryan.
Those interested can fill out a form online. The county aims to vaccinate those who apply within a week.
The county retrofitted a small bus and deployed an army of nurses to conduct COVID-19 tests at home earlier in the pandemic. They're going to use the same playbook now with at least several thousand vaccine doses.
What makes the program unique is that it's not just for people who are home-bound.
The county reported no new COVID-19 cases last Friday, for the first time since September.
