Some rain from remnants of Hurricane Ian possible toward the weekend

WHAT'S NEW: Across the Northeast, a cold front is moving towards the coast, but thankfully all it will do is bring in a slightly cooler air mass, that have temps running a few degrees below average (averge high is 70) for Thursday and Friday
WHAT'S NEXT: All eyes will be on IAN and where that system will go next. The remnant moisture will move up the East Coast but may struggle to come across Long Island. It will be this weekend where we have a chance of seeing scattered showers and breezy winds, along with some rough surf.
TROPICS:
Ian made landfall as a Category 4 Major Hurricane, on Cayo Costa, FL at 3:05 PM Wednesday with 150 mph winds. It then made a secondary landfall in Punta Gorda, FL at 4:35 mph with 145 mph winds. Alerts are up for much of Florida and up the coast into the Carolinas. By Thursday afternoon, a weaker IAN will move back out on to open waters of the Atlantic Ocean, with another landfall potentially in Southern South Carolina by Friday afternoon. The remnant moisture will eventually travel into the Mid Atlantic States and then up towards our way.
ELEVEN formed earlier today and is located in the Central Atlantic. It is forecast to briefly become a tropical storm (the next name on the list is JULIA) later today or early Thursday morning. It isn't expected to last long and will stay out in the open Atlantic.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says rain from remnants of Hurricane Ian are possible closer to the weekend.
