Chilly temperatures continue through today as rogue sprinkles develop this afternoon. The sprinkles come from the windy weather, blowing clouds into the region for the day. The sprinkles may even be flurries at high elevations, but most of these sprinkles won't make it to the ground as it will be "virga". Virga is precipitation that falls from the clouds but evaporates before reaching the ground usually due to drier air. It'll be cold tonight with wind chills in the 20s expected throughout tomorrow. The cold weather lasts through the rest of the weekend and into next week under a mix of sun and clouds. We are keeping an eye on the weather for next Thursday especially - since there is an opportunity for a morning wintry mix that changes to rain. This is seven days out, so there will be changes to the forecast, and the News 12 Storm Watch Team will watch this closely.
