Man pleads guilty in hit-and-run that killed teenage boy, injured father

A man who was driving with a suspended license has admitted to leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash last year that killed a teenager and injured the boy's father.
Alexander Politan says he was driving an SUV that struck 15-year-old Jesus Lopez-Grande and his 37-year-old dad as they walked home from the boy's job in Lakewood on Oct. 4. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while his father was treated for an elbow injury.
Politan, a 31-year-old Toms River resident, was arrested four days after the crash occurred. He faces a seven-year state prison term when he's sentenced April 17.
