Police: 8 arrests made, more than 500 calls made during SantaCon 2019

Thousands attended SantaCon 2019 in Hoboken over the weekend, and according to police – eight arrests were made.
SantaCon is an annual pub crawl where people dressed in Santa Claus costumes, or as other Christmas characters, parade in several cities around the world.
Police say officers were deployed as early as 8 a.m.
According to Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante, more than 500 calls were made to police. Eight people were arrested, 34 people received motor vehicle violations, and a total of 20 people were taken to area hospitals for alcohol-related issues.
