Police: Man threw snowballs with nails, screws inside them at busy intersection

Police in Clifton have arrested a man accused of throwing snowballs with nails inside them, as well as leaving “camouflaged" nails and screws around an intersection in Nutley.

The nails were discovered at the intersection of Kingland Street and Windsor Place.
According to police, since August, there have been more than 20 instances in which either officers or residents found nails and screws in the area.
Police say some were wired together so they would flatten a tire if a car ran over them.
Following an investigation, police arrested Adrian Sanchez, 54, of Clifton and charged him with multiple counts of throwing debris from a vehicle and weapons possession.
Police say Sanchez was in violation of a restraining order, and was "frustrated" about legal proceedings involving a Windsor Road resident.
