Police: 6 people arrested in Jersey City gang bust

Six people were arrested this week in an effort to stop gang-related crime in Hudson County.
Local, county and state authorities carried out four search warrants in Jersey City and one in Lyndhurst. Six people were arrested due to gang activity. Police say that they confiscated a handgun, ammunition, drugs and $6,500.
Jersey City Police Chief Michael Kelly says that multi-agency law enforcement efforts lead to busts like this one.
“The reason I can tell you our violent crime numbers are plummeting is because of these folks behind me. Last year we saw a 30% reduction in violent crime. This year we are seeing a 60% reduction of violent crime,” Kelly says. “I attribute that not only to the good police work but also because of the partners I have behind me."
Hassan Mosby, the alleged leader of the drug trafficking network, is still at large. Authorities say that more arrests are expected.
