Director of Stamford Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Ted Jankowski announced he will retire after a decade of being appointed to the position.
Part of Jankowski's career encompasses more than 36 years of public safety, fire, health, emergency medical and emergency management experience.
The city is conducting a search for a new director to ensure continuity and is publicly posting the opening.
The position is appointed by the mayor with approval from the board of representatives.
