A Westport couple who decided to move into an Airstream and travel across the country have made a stop in Connecticut and caught up with News 12's Marissa Alter.

Chris Ziccardi and Julie Tran left their Connecticut comfort zone back in February and have been on the road for 241 days.

"It's been quite an adventure. Our backyard looks like something new either every day or every few weeks," says Tran.

"We just show up and we’ll stay at a place for three weeks to a month and then we’ll like randomly pick another place," says Ziccardi. "We spent a lot of time in Arizona, which I loved."

They've documented their travels on their newly created YouTube channel and Facebook page.

"Maine was the first place we went to where we said we want to make it a tradition to come back every single year," says Tran.

The couple tells News 12 that their new living situation has been great for their relationship even if they get on each other's nerves sometimes.

"I think it’s had us work out things that we might’ve avoided otherwise," says Ziccardi.

The husband-and-wife duo named their RV Stelluna. It's 200 square feet inside the van compared to their old house, which was 5,500-square feet.

"Laundry. Having laundry right there and our dishwasher," says Tran when asked what she misses about their Westport home.

They also say they've gotten quite the education about living on the road.

"I’ve learned a lot about how to fix things," says Ziccardi.

They say the biggest lessons, though, have been about life.

"I learned that I don't need as much to live. I don't need as much to make me happy," says Tran.

The couple says in the future, they want to buy property somewhere warmer as a home base - but their Airstream adventure isn't ending anytime soon.

"We plan on continuing to travel for as long as we can," says Tran.

Their next stop is Key West, Florida.
