Police: Woman slaps Wawa worker after refusing to wear mask in store
A Bronx woman is facing charges for allegedly slapping a Wawa worker who asked her to wear a mask in the store.
Hackettstown police say that 23-year-old Ashanty Niang was not wearing a face mask while inside the Wawa on Mountain Avenue. Police say that the worker asked Niang to wear a mask, but she just used her jacket to cover her mouth.
Police say that Niang’s jacket kept coming down, exposing her mouth and that the worker asked her to leave. This is when Niang allegedly slapped the worker in the face.
Niang was charged with violating executive order, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
