Two officers shot this past Tuesday were released from Jamaica Hospital Thursday.
News 12 was in Queens as their colleagues in blue cheered the on.
The two officers have a long road ahead, but the NYPD says it is grateful they made it through.
A sea of officers gathered in front of Jamaica Hospital to support and root on officers Christopher Wells and Joseph Murphy. Their families walked behind them as the officers thanked their colleagues.
They were shot on Tuesday when they were investigating a domestic violence report at a home.
According to authorities, they were escorting a woman inside her apartment when her husband, Rondell Goppy, walked in and started firing at them - that’s when an exchange of gunfire erupted and Goppy, the husband, was shot dead.
Officer Wells was shot in the leg and Officer Murphy was in the hands.
Police say 41-year-old Goppy was a college security guard at CUNY.
