An Easton church is standing with the Jewish community after swastikas were found in their town.

Christ Church of Easton has come up with a positive way to respond to the messages of hate that were recently found in this small tight-knit community.

On the sidewalk outside the church are written messages of peace like "shalom" and "love thy neighbor."

Easton police and the school system say earlier this month swastikas were found drawn on the playground outside Samuel Staples Elementary School.

Police say they have identified the person responsible but will not say if they have any connection to the school system.

The church says hate has no place in the community.

News 12 reached out to Easton police and the school system but has not heard back.

The school system is investigating.

Easton police completed a hate and bias form and filed it with the state.

Police have not said if an arrest was made.
