New Jersey State Police say there is no so-called “speeding ticket blitz” happening this summer.
News 12 New Jersey previously reported that 50 state troopers would be on duty for a 30-day speeding crackdown issuing tickets.
State police Superintendent Col. Patrick Callahan says that this is not the case.
“I see periodically that social media post put out. And it is fictitious,” Callahan says. “Our troopers are out there 24/7 enforcing traffic laws. There is no order from me, from any station commander, from any sergeant or trooper commander regarding any ticket blitz.”
Callahan also confirms that speeding ticket fines will not be jumping from $44 to $173.
