Students from Bangs Avenue School in Asbury Park are finally heading back to school, but it won't be in their usual classrooms.
The school has been closed since Friday for asbestos testing. Lab tests last week found that asbestos was in the ceiling of the school. Early samples have come back free of asbestos, but final results have not been released yet.
Students were taken by bus to Bradley Elementary School to attend classes. They will finish out the remainder of the year at that school. The school year will also be extended three days, until next Wednesday, to accommodate for those days the building was closed.
The final results of the asbestos testing should be available by the end of the week. The principal says as soon as the results are in, parents will be notified.
