News 12 is taking a look at the G train, nearly a month after being closed from late June to early September for improvements.
The MTA tells News 12 the closures were the first steps in modernizing the line, which has had the same system as when it first opened 90 years ago.
The closure made commuters reroute their travel plans and take a bus.
Commuters like Alissa Fleurimond say they weren't aware it was closed because of updates.
“I really don’t see any improvements. I don’t know what they were working on fixing,” says Fleurimond.
An MTA spokesperson tells News 12 the closure was to install new communication technology, and was just the first steps in a longer term plan.
The full project isn't expected to wrap up until 2027.
