Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced a major takedown of a violent Coney Island-based gang.

Officials say they've indicted 15 men in connection with 16 separate shootings from 2024 to the beginning of 2026. These shootings left seven people injured, including four bystanders, and one 17-year-old dead.

“We know at least 182 times this small group of men fired shots in our community,” Gonzalez said.

The 113-count indictment charges the defendants with murder conspiracy, attempted murder, weapons possession and related offenses.

Prosecutors say most of those charged are teenagers and young adults affiliated with subsets of the 59 Brim Bloods street gang based in Coney Island, including groups known as “Fly Ooter Gang” and “Koney Sides.”

Authorities say the violence often unfolded in broad daylight, in busy public areas and across 10 precincts in Brooklyn.

Prosecutors also said many of the conflicts were fueled by disputes that started online, where gang members exchanged threats, taunts and music videos on social media before the violence spilled into the streets.

Investigators allege members traveled throughout the borough to confront rival gangs, opening fire in crowded streets and residential neighborhoods.

“Behind every one of these numbers is a real victim and a real community forced to live with the consequences of this violence,” Tisch said.

The indictment comes as city officials say overall gun violence in Brooklyn has declined. It also follows another recent gang takedown in Brownsville last month.

“We believe the combination of these indictments, in short order, will make Brooklyn even safer as we head into the summer,” Gonzalez said.
