5ds agoA tragic, heartbreaking story out of Tennessee - a 1-year-old child -- dead after being left in a vehicle.
It happened outside a day care center in Memphis.
First-responders rushed the child to the hospital where he later died.
Investigators say preliminary information indicates the little boy died from heat exhaustion, but that hasn't been confirmed.
The temperature in Memphis Thursday reached 91 degrees -- nearly a record.
An external temperature that high could push the temperature inside a car to more than 130 degrees.
Authorities temporarily detained one employee from Education is the Key Children's Center.
It's not yet clear if that employee will face charges.
