The U.S. women's national team is continuing a summer of celebration with a five-city victory tour that will make a stop Thursday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
More than 46,000 fans will take over the field as the team takes on Portugal in its World Cup victory tour.
The crowd is expected to be record-breaking for U.S. soccer for a standalone friendly, meaning a game not part of a World Cup, Olympics or doubleheader. The previous attendance record for a friendly was 44,000, which was set in Pittsburgh during the 2015 World Cup victory tour.
“We're here to just celebrate with our fans, celebrate the win and to see the numbers that we're pulling in it's just so fun, because in the World Cup, it was so serious and we didn't really understand our whole country gathering around us and now getting to celebrate with our fans it's pretty special for us to be here,” says forward Alex Morgan.

For someone like Julie Ertz, playing at the field is also a homecoming of sorts. She’s married to Eagles tight end Zach Ertz.

“It's surreal,” says Julie. “I don't know how many people get to share a field in their sport so, I'm soaking it in. I already sent him some video of me walking around and any photo I can find of him I'm taking a picture of it so it's really funny to be on a different end, I'm normally in the stands so to be on the field and in the locker room it's really special and I'm enjoying every second of it.”

The game begins at 7 p.m.
The team hopes to reach 50,000 fans by the opening whistle.
