Police say Mauvette Mattadeen?s husband had burns over 23 percent of his body.

EDISON - A woman from Somerset County was found guilty of pouring hot cooking oil on her husband.

Police say Mauvette Mattadeen claimed the attack, which happened two years ago, was self-defense.

Her husband had second and third-degree burns over 23 percent of his body and was left blind in one eye.

Mattadeen now faces 10 years in prison.
