A court sentence for a Teaneck woman is raising eyebrows.

Antoinette Galluzzo pleaded guilty to stealing more than $50,000 while working for the city of Englewood. She was sentenced to three years probation and a fine of only $360, which can be paid in monthly installments.

Court records show Englewood would have to sue Galluzzo in civil court to retrieve the money. If the city won, it could only collect by garnishing her wages after her probation ended.

Galluzzo worked as the assistant to the fire chief in Englewood, where she had access to financial information. Court records show that between 2004 and 2011, she pocketed some of the town's money for herself. Officials say the money was earmarked for Englewood students, funding a summer camp and a college scholarship. Both were canceled after the money disappeared.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli has asked for a hearing to reconsider the sentence.
