Summer is right around the corner, and Wildwood is making some big changes as far as alcohol goes.

The Board of commissioners passed a new ordinance Wednesday night that will ban alcohol on the beaches and boardwalks. Only restaurants and designated areas will be exempt.

General beach and boardwalk regulations say no one shall consume, possess or display any alcoholic beverage of any kind or in any container on the entire boardwalk at any time during the year.

The new law will be in effect within 20 days.
