A West Long Branch police officer is recovering from injuries after he was struck by a car Friday night.
Sgt. Brian Kramer was directing traffic at a high school football game at Shore Regional High School when he was hit.
The impact sent Kramer into the car's windshield, breaking the glass. He suffered a head injury, several cuts and bruises.
The driver, a 21-year-old man, was detained at the scene and later released.
