A reprieve from New Jersey's mild winter arrives this weekend, with snow developing overnight Friday into Saturday, bringing up to 3 inches to the region.

According to News 12 New Jersey meteorologist Jame Gregorio, Friday will remain sunny and mild until late afternoon, when clouds start developing. The evening's temperatures will still remain normal as clouds begin to accumulate even more. Snow, coming in from the South, will start to fall overnight and continue through Saturday morning before it's expected to stop in the early afternoon.

Residents won't have to break out shovels though, as the snow will not accumulate heavily. Around 1-2 inches is expected in New Jersey, with 2-3 falling in the northeastern area of the state. Sunday will be very cold, with a high of 33, and drivers are advised to exercise caution while driving on icy roads. All the snow will be gone by the end of next week, as temperatures will be approaching the 50s again.
