The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission has released its list of candidates who allegedly violated the Campaign Contributions Expenditures Reporting Act.

The act requires that candidates report all campaign contributions received and expenditures made during the course of an election.

The commission announced 29 actions made against New Jersey candidates for violations of the act.

Most of the violations were minor fines for missing deadlines. But the Bernardsville Republican Municipal Committee was fined over $5,500, the highest fine issued. The ELEC did not specify why the Bernardsville committee was fined so much.

Candidates who were fined are able to appeal the ELEC’s decisions.
