A young woman is lucky to be alive after a collision with a personal watercraft on the Metedeconk River.
Brick Township police say that the woman was riding on the vehicle, when she collided with her boyfriend who was riding on another. She fell off and went into the water.
Police say that when they found her, she was coming about her leg hurting. They discovered that her leg was broken.
“She is not sure if she got crushed between two Jet Skis or what happened,” an officer is heard saying on a police body camera.
Officers were able to pull the woman onto a patrol boat and she was treated by EMTs at the scene.
Officials say that the woman had a life jacket on but say that the quick response from officers who were patrolling the river was crucial to saving her life.
The crash happened last Friday near Pier 281.
The woman’s age was not immediately available, but authorities say she was under the age of 18.
