Middle Township police officers saved a couple who was sleeping from a house fire, and it was all caught on body camera.
The fire happened Saturday around 5:50 a.m. at 105 Holly Drive in the Rio Grande section of the township.
Patrolmen Mark Bakley and Shawn Rocca arrived at the home before firefighters got there when they learned Frederick Hofstetter, 83, and Susan Hofstetter, 72, were still inside the first-floor residence.
Bakley and Rocca gained access through a secured rear fence and found the rear sliding glass door was unlocked. The officers braved the flames and found the couple asleep in bed. They were taken to safety, along with their dog.
The Rio Grande Fire Department and Green Creek Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
