Republican operatives say Chris Christie's choice of a running mate will help him beat Gov. Jon Corzine, but voters tell News 12 New Jersey's Walt Kane they don't know who she is.
Christie announced Monmouth County Sheriff Kim Guadagno as his choice for lieutenant governor Monday. Prior to being sheriff, Guadagno was an assistant U.S. attorney.
Guadagno may be an unknown to many voters, but analysts call her a safe choice for Christie. Corzine's campaign issued a statement hailing the choice of a woman, but slammed Christie saying the top of the ticket will not protect women's rights.
