Police in East Brunswick are asking for the public’s help after dramatic surveillance video shows the driver of a car, appearing to be thinking it over, before suddenly ramming into the front entrance of an elementary school.
The incident happened Tuesday morning around 4:30 a.m. at Bowne Munro Elementary School on Main Street.
According to police, a dark-colored newer model Jeep Liberty, or older model Jeep Commander, entered the school parking lot and parked near the front entrance.
Police say the driver then waited for about eight minutes before beginning to leave, but as they head toward the exit, it stopped, reversed, lined up with the front door, and drove forward right into the school's front doors before finally taking off.
When police arrived, they found the main entrance to the school was pushed in and multiple windows were broken.
