Video shows store workers tackling alleged robber
The recently released surveillance video of a foiled Morristown jewelry store heist shows just how employees took the suspect down.
Investigators say 33-year-old Michael Rosario, of Belleville, tried to steal three 18-carat gold Rolex watches from Braunschweiger Jewelry on Oct. 15.
The video shows Rosario apparently trying to leave the store with the three watches. Store manager Greg Kettle then confronts Rosario, who makes a mad dash for the door. On the video, four other employees are shown jumping into action, locking the front door and tackling the suspect. Police arrived soon after.
Just one month later, another attempted robbery occurred. A man tried to stuff his bag with diamond earrings worth $9,000.
Kettle says the two incidents have put his employees on edge and sometimes make them look twice at customers. "You hate to think that way, but with those types of things going on it just really puts you on edge,? he says.
Rosario is in the Morris County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. He?s charged with robbery and giving a false name.
Police found the man in the second attempt in Essex County. He is facing robbery charges as well.
