A special prayer service was held at Community Baptist Church in Garfield Sunday to mourn those killed and wounded at Fort Hood in Texas, but also to honor all veterans.
The Rev. Steve Janke, who served in Vietnam, says the day was set aside to pay respect to veterans and men and women currently in the armed forces.
Though the service was originally planned to celebrate the congregation's pride in U.S. veterans, Janke says prayers were added to mourn the victims of the Fort Hood shooting.
